This will be fun! Only one choice per person haha. EDIT: apologies if I've failed to list your most favourite security application above. Please post it below!
Other: Opera While a browser isn't usually categorized as a security product, a look at the attack vectors in the past year or so reveals that a browser that permits control over scripting and plugins effectively neutralizes exploits using: Flash Quicktime PDF Readers MP3 Rogue Antivirus products DirectShow* and similar. ---- rich *Directshow http://blogs.technet.com/msrc/default.aspx
Sandboxie ! I can't imagine accessing the internet without it. I haven't tried Shadow Defender or First Defense so I can't comment on them.
There needs to be a good worldwide dbase that all applications can tap into to fix new threats. Most of what you posted here in your poll is current. There is so many out there. I just use what my sign say and that's it.
Windows 64-bit itself with DEP and UAC, but it also creates quite a security harmony with other included aplications like IE, Windows Firewall and Windows Defender. I have also Avira, but just to shut up Action Center and easy my conscience, that I do have something, that can actually detect mallware.
I tried Outpost Internet Security Suite 2009 the lastest build .0687, OA lastest .18, KIS2009 .506, Eset business server version 4x. I prefer to KIS although it is pretty deep menu trees of browsing for settings and many open windows to setup; it is almost no problem at all I have seen on my boxes. OA is transparent secure protections to users. The GUI is simple and easy to go with. Its advance setting optional come with Paid version are great. OA let users to config applications for each other corresponding components to run with it. It seems OA firewall has something slowdown on network and internet performances? OP suite 2009 is great at protection. It supports to run on windows server os. OA can too but not officially supports. It is great but seems it has some problems with vmware virtual guest os in networking? I love OP for its explicitly option on RAW network access which OA does not - although when OA asking "system" want to connect to other computers, this is a raw protocol network access? KIS2009 is great but it does not work on windows server 2003 OS. It is rock and smooth.
I voted Comodo firewall but I actually use the full Comodo Internet Security suite. The only other things I use are MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware on demand, but they never find anything. In over 10 years on line, I have never been hacked or infected with anything so I'm a very non-paranoid user.
DefenseWall. I also like Shadow Defender and Shadow Protect, maybe even OA if it will be compatibile with Win 7
GeSWall Pro, but I have to whisper so the other ones don't hear me say it. Oh, hello Prevx! What's that? Who am I talking to? Oh, nobody.
