Ok, now I have to play the bad guy. If your data shows that 60 percent that have a suite still get infected, then with Hitman what does that average out to based on the different vendors combined.

You see, I have a problem with that rational, with all due respect. I as a consumer, and I am one, go out and buy a suite that is rated very good by, well forget by who, but you are saying I need to buy this product to to make sure my protection is even better. How much better? Damn, if it is Kaspersky and then I have to pay for you, well, that costs a lot. Not that it isnt worth it.

For me, with what little I have learned here, then Sandboxie,Defensewall, or Geswall would be the perfect way to use your software, and I have said this here before. I dont know if you really just dont know what the endless possibilities are with a product like this, I am sure you do compared to me. But dont say, go buy a AV then buy a multi-scanning AV to also go along with it. It wont work, it wont sell.

So, again, just talking freely here, because I still say with what I have seen, this is the coolest product I have seen in a looooooong time. But do the Hitman justice as time goes by please. The only other time I felt like this, was no, not Prevx, but SafeSpace. A product that if some half intelligent investor had just stepped up to the plate, would now, have made a fortune.

Hitman is the new SafeSpace, or can be.;)

You need to know that most people use Hitman Pro because they already have an infection. So that statistic is biased towards an already infected PC.

You should also note that everybody tests detection, detection, detection. But most suites really lack cleanup of modern malware. The top suites rely heavily on their detection. But once malware slips detection damage is done and the user needs to resolve to other tools like Prevx or Hitman Pro for cleanup.

Cool, and would not detection and cleanup be a winner in the sales market.:D

I don't think you can compare the two. SafeSpace looks more like a sandboxing program, and if it isn't being developed further, you have the likes of Sandboxie to use that is actively being updated.

trying out something new. Kees, using on 64 bit, the Norton UAC test tool and Hitman with boot scans. And it will scan every time you boot up, if you know how to set it. But right now, the Norton tool is pretty cool and not very intrusive like Microsofts. This may work.:thumb:

i got a quick question. i have 3 files detected by Hitman Pro (prevx detected it) but i KNOW these are FP's because they are files from some of my games. is ther a way to report them as an FP or exclude them right from the detection screen?

You can email them to report@prevxresearch.com and we will correct them :) I'm not familiar enough with Hitman Pro to know if there is a reporting function within it but it would probably be best to correct it globally within our database anyway to prevent others from having to report it.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

At the end of each row there is an arrow. If you click the arrow the Report that this file is safe option appears. This options instructs the cloud to further analyze the malware and the default action becomes Do not delete. The entry is still listed though as it could turn out that the file is actually malware. This entry keeps being listed, with default action being Do not delete, untill the cloud says otherwise. The more people say the file is an FP the quicker it is being resolved.

But as PrevxHelp says, its better to report to Prevx as the FP is then resolved in both products.

Each row in the view can be expanded by clicking on the arrow in front of the row. See for example this screenshot where winlogon.exe was identified as malware by NOD32, G Data and Prevx. The end of each row lists the action that needs to be performed on the item.

Hitman Pro has no way to exclude files or folders, does it?

not yet, but they do have a lot coming. Releases are fairly frequent, they are serious about the product and the way it looks today compared to, lets say, 3 months from now, is like night and day from my understanding.

Hitman Pro needs a right click folder scan option, also a manual schedule setup wouldn't hurt either. I rely on Hitman Pro for scanning my friends PC(s). I am not sure at what level of development this software is but it is very impressive.

Hitman Pro 3.5.1 Build 70 released:
    • Improved detection of zero-day malware.
    • Improved detection of auto starting malware.
    • Fixed a problem in handling authenticode certificates when malware infected a code signed PE-file.

Thanks! No problem with built 70 but when scanning Hitman pro found a falsepositive wich in this case is Geswall... It is found by the PrevX engine!

well the good thing is, that is only 1 of 2 FPs Prevx will detect today and only 1 out of 500,000 checked as a FP each day. :cautious:

    Nice signature :D :D
    Prevx 3.5
Where did you get it from :thumb: :argh:

Anyway, Prevx FPs aren't problem for me, maybe for non-tech computer users. I report them and they get fixed before you notice it :D

Geswall? I have used Geswall with Prevx and no issues, so what gives.
