SpyCop is Now SpyReveal

I sent a message to SpyCop because I could not order their product from the website and here is their response:

Hi - Thank you for your email. Due to an ethics disagreement between vendor and distributor, the product that you knew as SpyCop is now SpyReveal. New sales company, identical product.

The SpyReveal website is still under construction, however we made it urgent
priority that the product and updates are delivered to our customers. The
download links work, and updates are being distributed via SpyReveal.
Additionally, the lifetime subscription requirement has been removed under the
new name. SpyReveal is a lifetime product and you will never have to renew again.

We hope to have SpyReveal available for general sale to new customers within a week.

Who is running SpyCop, who is running SpyReveal?

Why would they change the name unless the vendor sold the program?

 

I use SpyCop scanner, I wonder whats going on? or if the software will remain the same without any changes besides the name?

 

I am curious too. From what I understand though, it is the only product that specifically scans for commercial keyloggers. Is that correct. What other antikeyloggers can scan for commercial keyloggers? Does Zemana?

 

I'm with everyone else. Confused.

 

And let's face it, SpyCop isn't going to any great extremes to keep you from feeling that way. I'm not real enthused.

 

Zemana doesn't scan for loggers, but their updated product does a good job at preventing one from being installed in the first place!

I downloaded and installed it and it looks and seems Identical! It also migrates your registration details and gives you a lifetime subscription, not just the 1 year subscription Spycop did!

I wonder if the new one effects things like white lists, ect?

I'm with you, Caspian. Thoroughly confused. Maybe Spy1 can come back and tell us what he knows about (competing products?) or whatever is going on. I know he used to be pretty close to them.

 

I have had very recently contact with the original devellopper of SpyCop.
But:
1.
We have now (at least) two threads about SpyCop->SpyReveal.
For me that is one too much. One of them has to be closed to be able to follow what is going on.

You'll notice, especially within the last year, a lot of people posting in the privacy subforums who rarely venture out of them. That's why most of us didn't even know about the other thread.

To me, it's an easy choice: which product is that the original developer of the product we've all known as SpyCop? As far as I'm concerned, once we know who that is, the discussion is pretty much over. (Meaning there's only one SpyCop and that's the one everyone has known for years).

Spy Reveal is a spin-off of my old SpyCop Security Scanner, same product.

I am one of the partners involved in SpyReveal. I will be handling marketing and management of the overall SpyReveal product. Our new strategy involves being more open and more community involvement in our product.

I can not specifically disclose why the security scanner is no longer involved with SpyCop. Look at this way the security scanner was a product of SpyCop's for 10 years, something happened to trigger the partnership to end.

Either way our focus is to move past our ethics disagreement with SpyCop, and rebrand as SpyReveal.

If you guys have questions, I'd love to answer. If you have any suggestions for SpyReveal, I'd love to hear them as well. We plan on doing a complete UI overhaul down the road.
