    Hi

    I have:
    SpywareGuard
    SpywareBlaster
    Spybot S&D
    Ad-aware
    They are all updated.

I have noticed for a while that SpywareGuard keeps disabling the "Download protection". I have 4 computers and it only diabables it on 2 of them. 1 is running 2000, the others XP. The 2 that it is working fine on are identical laptops; on XP. The 2000 & 3rd XP computer; it is not remembering to enable the download protection. When I check it once a week I find that it is disabled on the 2 computers. I renable it on both of theses computers, to find the following week it is disabled again. I have only just installed them on both of them so it is not a recent occurance. Could you please tell me what the problem is?

    Thanks. :)
Sorry if you can't understand this, please ask questions if necessary. ;)

    Hi Alan,

It seems that some downloadmanagers are causing this behavior.
Does that make sense? Different ones on the two computers with the problem?

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Aha.
That is completely right. My 2000 computer has the same download manager as on the XP computer (those 2 are effecting SpywareGuard). The last 2 XP computers don't have a download manager on them and they are not effecting SpywareGuard. All fits into place.

    Perfect. :D

Thanks very much for your help and prompt reply. Wow that's quick. ;)

Do you think that a different download manager would do the same?
I am using Star Downloader at present.

    Thanks. :)

Just to let you know that I am now using LeechGet and I no longer have that problem. So, LeechGet seems compatiable with SpywareGuard. I prefer it actually :D So thanks for you help.

    1 last question please:

I'm now using MyIE2 & Avant browser, does SpywareGuard protect these browsers? or do they not have the same problems as IE?

    Thanks.

Both are IE shells, so that would not make any difference for SpywareGuards protection.
