    Friends,

I'm about to switch from a Windows PC to a MAC but I feel a little bit naked withou an AV and a firewall. I've tried searching but it seems I can't find one. I've looked at Symanetec, McAfee, but I don't see this option at their sites.

Can anyone please list me some of them and post the link to their sites?

    TIA,
    Scirious.

Try iantivirus. It's free (for home use), from PCTools, and designed for Mac-specific threats. This is what I use and it's very light.

I think her concerns are right on. If I were a MAC user I would be securing my system as thoroughly as possible, just like my Windows PC. Apple's position that OS X doesn't need anti-malware protection seems arrogant to me and sooner or later MAC users will pay the price.

    scirious,

Hopefully you didn't purchase a Mac AV yet. MacUpdate is running a great promo for the next 13 days. For $49.99 (normally ~$500), you get Intego VirusBarrier X5 AV, Snitch (great firewall), and 8 other very good Mac apps.

You can find the deal here (if this type of link isn't allowed, sorry, and just search for MacUpdate Promo Holiday Bundle).

I only wish there were these types of deals on the PC.
