Just as the subject says, I get STOP 8E blue-screen crashes when I shut down my WinXP SP-1 system. The BSOD text mentions AMON.SYS specifically.

I've had to disable AMON. And I did send a support request to Eset.

I suppose this only happens to me, right?

I'll leave this thread for reference, but NOD32 is coming off my machine right now. I'm not up for crossing my fingers and hoping a fix comes eventually. I've been there before.

Clean as a whistle. I downloaded the full 2.000.9 install, so I never had a prior version installed at all.

Pro or Home version of XP? I have XP Pro Sp1 and I got the 2.9 version clean from the website. I had not had it before. I've had no problems with any STOP blue screens. So, I just wondering if maybe you have the Home version?

Do you by some chance have another antivirus installed at the same time as NOD, whether set to be active or not

I have XP Home Edition SP1a. When I tried downloading from the web site I kept getting a corrupted file. I was Emailed a zipped attachment that works great . Also do you have BOClean/ They don't play well together. At least they didn't on my puter.

I've seen another report of this smewher, but can't find it now, and the cause was the user had the trial version installed and hadn't totally removed it before installing the full version

It was on a different forum, but I can't for the life of me, remember which one of the millions of Forums I use that it was on.

I think one of the XP forums

No system is alike - I did give it a go on a test system, and the both of them do function like a charm in conjunction ;).

    regards.

I have BOClean 4.11, yes, but I really don't think that was the problem. The reason I say this is that by the time the crash occurs, BOClean has already been closed.

Thanks for the replies. However, as I said above, I've removed NOD32. I'm not trying to make a point or be nasty by mentioning that, just explaining why I can't try any suggestions that come up.
