There is still no changelog available but Mike is working on it.

Yes V3 has a new GUI. Its similar to the old one but a different style.

I wish the pop ups to be more obvious. The processes involved must be shwon bold enough to be read on a glance.

I agree that the OA's warning pop-ups are generally a little too understated, particularly when one hits a real baddie. The tiny darkish pink warning box somehow doesn't strike great fear into my heart.

Now something like nod32's v. 2.7 -- well, THAT is a warning!! (in my best Paul Hogan voice, as I pull out my 16" Rambo stick and hold it up to the crowd). Blinking, pulsating, screaming, shimmering red on red !

No, colors are OK as HIPS pop up so often, u don,t need striking colors like an AV that pop ups very less.

I was just complaining that for its pop ups I have to strain my eyes to read the processes involved in the pop ups while it,s not the case with other HIPS like SSM, EQS, CFP, PS etc. Can anyone convey this on their official forums? Thanks

I have no problem with the pink popup but a liitle sharper or bolder letters would make for better reading.

    Hi,

    A few impressions

There are some nice new features in OA 3, like trust everything when running the Safety Check Wizard.

    OAscw.png

This is the new main window.

    OAmain.png

Every group has an option tab now, like Programs with the new features
    - disable OA's whitelist... success :D :thumb:
    - or Run safer unknown programs by default.

    Cheers

    Hi aigle,

The path shown is to "user"(in that case "administrator") "desktop", it is what you see on-screen. Normally it is just shortcuts to the installed applications, but some programs (depending on settings) do download to that area.

Maybe I misunderstand, if so, could you please explain.

(NOTE: I have not yet looked at this release)

Sorry I was just referring that somethings should be in BOLD like application name, type of alert, application path etc to make it easy to read the popup just on a glance.

    Very nice options.

1- Trust everything on this PC
    2- Run safer unknwon
    3- Clear unknown on exit

Very interesting.. I may have to install this on a VMware environment. I'm using OA but I should have bought the +AV which would have dealt with two problems swiftly.

Hmmmmm... let Comodo copy something from OA.

Simple mode- with no complex child parent control like OA, minimal reg n file protection and no pop up alerts for white listed application etc etc( should be deafult along with clean PC mode). :D :D

    Hi Aigle,

One of the most common requests I got from users over the last year?

"Pro Security has a trust all during setup feature, please add it to OA."

    So, we did.

    Cheers

    Mike

From the GUI I can only see one additional option at the FW
    - Filter invalid MAC addresses

There are also some new options for different parts of OA
    - Launch the Safety Check Wizard from main window
    - Enable/disable Key Loggers detection
    - Web Shield: cookie cutter, ignore OA website list, clear unknown sites on exit

    General options
    - enable/disable multi desktop support
    - OA autostart on/off

I think the main goal was to release a Vista version, but there are some nice improvements, like disable OA's whitelist, which was claimed by OA users.

The step from OA 2 to OA 3 seems to be an evolutionary one, great balance in usability and security.
The first impressions are pretty well, now let's torture it a little bit. :argh:

    Cheers

Eh, and there is proof Comodo invented that. I think both ProSec and SSM had it.

Kind of like coming and with a new car, and some one claiming they stole the idea of a steering wheel.

Is anyone using on vista? Here something I experience I Dont think its a bug. If I open my IE7 to my google search Home page there is about a eight second delay to open.I tried to disable one guard at a time.Program guard off only makes a difference about 3 seconds to open.If I shutdown OA my IE is almost instant. Is this isolated to my machine,Vista or XP as well. After my IE7 opens everything is Honky dory.
