This is a extrodinary program and a must have if you not seen before. It's removes viruses, rootkits, keyloggers, spyware and it uses the detection algorithms of Kaspersky. Not only that it comes with a huge list of useful features under one roof, there's even a port viewer. It doesn't need to be installed. I found just a couple of mentions of it in 2006 and 2007 on Wilders. The last version is April 2008 so check it out. btw it comes with online updates and it's free.

The website is in russian but excellent translator to english thanks to Google

Yeah AVZ is awesome. It's very nice that it's still developed by Kaspersky&Oleg.

How do I run it within the KIS/KAV 8 GUI? Will auto update inside the GUI update its database too?

    Thanks.

 ah sorry. the search doesn't pick up the title topic of 3 letters avz so i didn't see that thread.

You can manually update the latest definitions into the Base folder instead of using the auto update. http://z-oleg.com/secur/avz_up/avzbase.zip

This program somewhat reminds me of DiamondCS TDS(What an excellent program)

Kaspersky has been such a great program for so many years. I still remember Thunderbyte and all of the great av classics. I use avira right now because it has great detection and it isn't as hard on my pc as KAV. It is nice that they provide this program for manual scanning.

If AVZ Antiviral Toolkit is being developed by Kaspersky, then what are the differances between this and Kaspersky AVP Tool?

look at the gadgets in the second screenshot provided by the OP..those are not included in kis/kav (or might be part of the protection engine somehow, but definately not available to play with)
