Norton Antivirus has a file you can use to test to see if NAV is working. The file really doesn't contain a virus - NAV just has a signature for it so it detects it as a virus. Does ESET have such a thing? I am a new user and I would like to make sure it's really working... Thanks!
Wow - I'm impressed... I figured the virus would be detected once it started to be saved on the disk, but ESET won't even let me download it! Thanks!
Unless there is another one you are speaking of, NAV is also using the eicar as a test. How to use the EICAR test string to test Norton AntiVirus
Probably - it's been a while since I did the test with NAV. I must say, so far I am very impressed with ESET. I previously used NAV and ZoneAlarm. While they both worked, they were huge resource hogs. My son uses ESET (he works at MicroCenter, where they sell it) and he recommended it. I recently reloaded windows on my PC and took that opportunity to check out ESET So far, so good!
Without assuming wrongly even tho this is in the v2 forum, did you indeed install v2 or are you trying the newer EAV version 3 ?
Oh there is no problem with that and only if you have future issues would it help to post in the ESET NOD32 Antivirus Forum. Regards, Bubba
