Do any of you know if RegRun Security Suite 5.6 still delays startup\shutdown and execution of applications like the previous version? I noticed it increased the times of execution of these actions.

launch soon ...just delays the start of a task i.e. startup and and then launch task after x delay

No, I think the delay question refers to resource hogging. As in that when running Regrun's Watchdog with the registry monitor, startup analyzer and rootkit detection then it causes application's to 'slow down' and 'delay' when launching them. So say Internet Explorer takes 3 seconds to open without Regrun and takes 6 seconds with it running. I think that's what is being referred to.

Well I tested opening up SAS. I opened and closed SAS 3 times so that it got itself into the memory. Then opened SAS with and without Regrun running. With both scenario's it took 4 seconds for the main GUI for SAS to appear.

Some nice updates however i have a file it is not able to remove. Think it is part of Threatfire. mchinjdrv.sys located in system32/drivers folder Hidden
Why would Threatfire be using rootkit technology to hide it's driver?

mchinjdrv.sys is a legitimate code injector, its a hidden driver to provide protection - I think mchinjdrv stands for Mad Code Hook Injection Driver

    Hey thanks

This is the first time I came in contact with it. Even though it is legit, I am not sure I like the idea of using rootkit technology to hide the driver in any security software.

Don't you remember Kevin M telling you anyone who uses Madshi is just plain lazy?
I am sure I still have his e-mail telling me this.

What? is everybody using this file now?

Well I decided to try this version 5.6 and let me tell you, don't know if its my setup these days, but its improved greatly. Even the registry backup is quicker than before. Startup and shutdown are fast. I am only using RegRun Platinum with Online Armor AV+ and Sandboxie. I might just keep it on for a while and see how it goes. I did have this problem with PDBoot.exe triggering Online Armor startup guard but I let RegRun Antivirus fix its path error which was triggered by it.

In all the confusion of features :p i found "RunGuard", which is a script blocker. Does it work similar to Worguard, or is it another limited sb?
A simple test to see how it works would be as Rmus explains (embedded script) in this thread.

I have a licence for Wormguard and i don't use it as i find Runguard does the same plus more. Especially the option to link to your chosen AV to scan the flagged file.

A question to those who have used and tested both of these programs: which are the main differences in functionality between the RegRun Suite (without any extra features such as UnHackMe etc.), and WinPatrol Plus? Are there any major differences?

There are too many functions in conjunction of both programs, RegRun Suite and WinPatrol Plus. I can only say, that RegRun Suite has a lot more features and is more customizable than WinPatrol Plus IMO..
