    Hi,

    Currently using TrueImage 10.0 (build*4,942) running on Vista.

    I have a Thecus N2100 connected on my network.

    I can successfully backup onto the N2100 from my Vista machine, but I have some files on N2100 that I want to backup onto my Vista machine as double security, the files that I am backing up from the N2100 come from other machines so don't exist on the Vista machine.

    The N2100 is configured as RAID 1.

    When I try and do the backup from the N2100 I get the following error:

    Failed to backup file or folder. (0x40019)
    Path = "\\?\UNC\Media-one\Documents",
    Hints = 1
    Tag = 0xA8A1022BD18AE0C9
    The request is not supported (0xFFF0)
    code = 80070032
    Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8A6

    Here is the full log:

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't understand why I can backup TO the N2100 but not FROM.

    I have exactly the same error message, backing up files and folders on a NAS drive in Windows Vista. I contacted Acronis months ago and I am still waiting for an answer:

    [Acronis #924498] Error on Backup Operation

    It worked perfectly BEFORE when using Windows XP. I have tried an identical backup with another Vista machine and received an identical error message.

    The common theme appears to be Windows Vista. Acronis do not seem to be in a great rush to resolve it though.

    A reply by email this morning:

    ~Private email removed. Use general terms to explain the support you received from Acronis. - Ron~

    What's the magic word Ron?

    Apparently I am not allowed to repeat the 'personal' email I received from Acronis support.

    In short, they are aware of the problem, are able to repeat it and 'we are now working with Microsoft to correct this error'.

    So, backing up a NAS using Acronis True Image on a Vista box is not possible.

    Version 11.0 (build 8,053) and this problem is still there, despite Acronis support promising that it would be fixed with this release.

    Is no one else having this problem?

    Why does Acronis not want to fix it?

    Hello garybrevans,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are very sorry for the inconveniece. Please be aware that with Acronis True Image 11 Home build 8053 the problem was no longer reproduced on our testing computers where it was reproduced with earlier builds. It's possible that on your system the problem has somewhat different cause, which will probably require additional investigation. Could you please follow the instructions which will be sent you via e-mail as soon as possible? We appreciate your collaboration on this matter.

    Thank you.
