Hi,first of all i'm sorry for my bad english

    my question is that:
when i hit analyze button in perfectdisk 8 it shows a file called $badclus:bad
as locked with no fragments ; i searched about this file and learned that it maintains a list of bad clusters on the drive; so

1)Do i really have bad clusters just because of existence of the file?
2)How can i learn whether or not i have any bad clusters and fix them if i have anyo_O

    thanks in advance

    Hello Mizar,

The best way I know to sort this out (assume were talking XP) would be running CHKDSK from windows recovery console:

Basically you would: Boot from your windows disk
    Choose "R" for repair
enter the command "chkdsk /r" sans the quote marks

    for more information see:

I do this regularly once a month

    Rake Care
