Sorry for not answering your question, but...

F-Secure 2007 = KAV engine + their own engine + LavaSoft AdAware + Norman Sandbox?

EDIT: You can read more about Norman's Sandbox technology here, and if you take a look at AV-Comparatives' latest retrospective/proactive test it is rated as "Advanced" which should give you some indication of how good it is.

    kaspersky antivirus engine
    blacklight rootkit engine
    norman sandbox heuristics
    lavasoft spyware (improved)

im sure there are more, but i want to know more about this norman sandbox, wonder if anyone knows, i hear very good things about it.

when i googed it, a number of independant sites rate it has the best proactive protection, and mention its mainly for buisinesses. (apparently such good proactive isnt needed in home protection *sigh*)

***** nobody have any comments on this? *****

While I can't show you how good or bad the Sandbox is, you can definitely see for yourself if you have any suspicious samples with you:

We have been using Norman for the past 4 years with corporate licensing.

One problem we faced till last year with Norman Sandbox is if a mail attachment is approximately more than 1 MB, the email client - Outlook\Outlook Express just hangs.

To get the email client working again one had to delete the *.TMP files in Norman folder & then the attachment, making it a regular headache for a company with more than 100 computers.

Also when the scanning is going on, it takes a lot of system resources, bringing down PIII systems with 128MB RAM.

Now they have rectified the problem - but the issue still persists for large mail attachments, say about 5MB & even for zipped\compressed files.
