    Hi

I did a backup without problems, after that I reinstalled the OS (Win XP Pro). Than I tried to recover a few files from my "My Documents Folder", the files were successfully recovered with one single problem. I'm not able to access the "my documents" folder anymore. Therefore I can't get my hands on my files...not good.
My guess, Acronis is recovering the "rights structure" too or something like that.

My questions is, how can I bypass this? And how can I get back my data?

    Thx in advance

PS: OS WinXP Pro, Acronis True Image 9.0

The problem is the SSID (XP's file security manager) has now changed for your installation and XP will sulk.

The way to get it back is a bit of a palaver.

    1. Reboot the PC into safe mode.

    2. Go to the folder you can't access, highlight it and right mouse click.

    3. From the pop up choose properties\security.

    4. Click on the advanced button at the bottom of the form.

    5. Click on add and then highlight your current log in name. Make sure inherit from parent etc is ticked.

Once XP has whirled around a bit, close all the dialogue boxes down, reboot, and, Bob will be your Uncle and Gert your maiden aunt :)
