Auto shutdown after backup

I like to run an image (full or incremental) when I am finished for the day. What I would like to do is manually start the backup. Then leave the computer and have it shut down the computer automatically when it is finished backing up and verifying.

The image is to a usb HDD. Currently using TI home 3633, and XP Pro SP2 and it is set to verify after creating the image. The b/u and verify works fine.

How can I turn off my computer automatically when TI 9.03633 is finished? Using 3rd party is fine as long as it is free

Its BASIC-like. And in comparison to NSIS (Nullsoft Installer System) its easier to understand. (At least for me)

You can schedule the image creation using When my computer shuts down option – the task will be executed before a computer shutdown or reboot. So, when you begin to shut down the computer, Acronis True Image will create the image and then your computer will be shutted down automatically.

After your backup has completed run a batchfile which calls
shutdown -s -f

Yes.

Note that the -f forces shutdown and the system will go down very quickly. If this is not what you want, omit the -f. I always leave it in

Is there a script to force the system into Standby, rather than Shutdown?

Searching in Windows XP Pro, I can't find the Standby command. Any idea where it is, or what the command would be?

My computer shuts down automatically after the backup is executed. ATI does that.
My trouble is that it doesn't turn off my external harddisk.

So I backup on reboot. If I forget to turn on my external harddisk before reboot, ATI doesn't execute the backup.
