Just a simple poll, I use Sygate, but I just wanted to check how popular Sygate was, I'm new to these forums, so sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

It asked many times, but this is a nice update.

No Firewall is configured to meet everyone’s Standards by default; you have to configure Look ‘n’ Stop to Authorize ftp protocol...

I use LooknStop but I think I preferred Norton Internet Security and may again purchase the newer version of NIS when I obtain my new pc in several months. NIS2000 was easier to figure out, especially the log but LnS stealths me in all ports whereas NIS had me stealth in all ports except one, which was closed. With new pc may also check out ZoneAlarm which, from reviews that I have read, is easiest to use yet still does excellent job of stealthing. Take care.

OUTPOST rules OK. Does what it's supposed to do without giving you an argument, unlike ZA that starts to think it knows better than you.

    Regards, Cochise.

LooknStop here. I don't know that it's better than some others, but I'm happy with it.

    I voted "other".
I use LooknStop 2.04p2. with enhanced rules set.

It gives me stealth on all ports and has protected me well!
Even with all of this worm activity on the internet. :)

    I voted "other" - I use Outpost Pro v2.

Tried to get around paying for a firewall by experimenting with Kerio and Sygate. Ease of use and the excellent (IMHO) Outpost Forum convinced me to spring for the $. Would love to tackle the learning curve again when I have more time or brains :p

    Used AtGuard.

Remember that there are a few security issues with it:
    It cannot handle malware, leaks
It stores the config in an unnatural place (read: corruptable)

No matter how charming this tool was (I even bought a license), there are better tools now.

I am sorry I cannot with good concience
vote in the survey because of the fact you are missing
one of the best if not the greatest firewall
included in your selection 'Oupost Firewall'
I am terribly sorry but my vote is mute at this time.... ;) ;)
