Does anybody know if its possible to run a backup job using the boot cd by means of loading a batch file or the such. In other words a idiot proof way for someone to back up a drive with out going though all the setting each time?
    Many thanks
    Andy

    Hello Andy,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay with the response.

I'm afraid that it is not possible to automate the backup procedure when using Acronis True Image Bootable Rescue CD. You will always need to pass all steps of the Create Backup Wizard in order to create both disk\partition and file-based backups.

The only way to automate the backup process is to create a scheduled task when using Acronis True Image from under Windows. You can select the "Do not start automatically" option so that your scheduled task will execute only when you start it manually. In order to start the task which creates a backup with predefined parameters user will need to press only one 'Start Now' button (checkered flag).

Please also note that when you schedule a task in Acronis True Image the corresponding script ('.tis' file) is created in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts folder. If you have Acronis True Image installed on your computer and all necessary services are running in the 'background' then you can execute '.tis' files by simple double-click. This means that you can place a shortcut on your desktop which links to the corresponding Acronis True Image script. When you double-click on this shortcut the corresponding task will be exulted and the backup with all predefined parameters will be created. Please see this previous thread for further details.

You can find more information on how to schedule a task in Acronis True Image in the corresponding Acronis True Image version User's Guide.

If you want us to change the behaviour of Acronis True Image in any way or add some new features to this product, please feel free to post any of your suggestions in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
