My friend asked me to upgrade his hard drive without formatting and reinstalling xp, so I tried out Acronis True Image. I cloned the hard drive, but it will only boot XP when the original is the slave, and the cloned HD is master. In windows, the original is C, and the cloned is F, but everything boots from F. I dont understand why it wont boot from the cloned alone.

    Anyone have suggestions?

    Thanks

Did you remember to remove the original drive before the first successful boot of the cloned drive?

This is not a TI restriction but comes from the way NT, XP works. If this is what happened see the following for a solution.

Method 3, using the W95/98 recovery disk is usually seen as a good way.
