The superb Acronis software periodically destroys my paid-for version of Acronis True Image 9.0 in a misguided but stubbornly held belief that the software was a trial download. When I tried to register in the hope that the system would get the idea that this is not a trial version, The site informed me that the software was already registered, and I couldn't find my way forward..

The Acronis contact suggested that I uninstall and reload. I've done this several times, and it works until the $$%%^^^&&* software decides that this is an expired trial version and deletes it. I am sick of reloading my copy due to an overly vengeful piece of code.

There is probably something left in the Registry that creates that problem. If you are very comfortable editing the Registry, search for and remove anything with words Acronis or True Image. Then reinstall TI.

Be aware, though, that if you remove something from the Registry that Windows needs, you will render your system unbootable.

Probably better to try first to Restore Windows to a date before you installed the Trial version of TI - if there is a Restore point available. Then reinstall the paid version.
