Good, free .zip utility that can....

Unpack a .exe file. I always used Izarc, but recently needed to extract a .exe file to save a key file ouyt of it, and when I right clicked the .exe file there was no option to extract here, or extract to a location of my choice, and when I did extract the .exe to wherever Izarc defaults, it said this action is not supported.

Only a few exe are packed using the traditionnal .zip, .rar... and so on.

Developpers uses more sophisticated packers to do so.

So don't expect too much to find something that will uncompress your file.

give zipgenious a try, maybe even tugzip.

 

That's weird. IZArc works for me.

Edit: Just tried IZArc 3.5 beta. 3.5 is f'd up. Went back to 3.416. No problems.
