Sandboxie and AppGuard. No phishing protection, no banking mode, no web-scanner, no anti-spam, no e-mail scanning, no HIPS. I bet malware coders are laughing about me.

Don't bother with Spybot. It's past its best before date.

For me it would be. Others prefer to throw in everything they can think of.

Finally dumped Emsisoft security pack, just tired of the slowness of my computer, everything from videos not playing, web pages not loading just terrible...fed-up to say the lease....Since I removed Emsisoft my computer flies w/ no slow downs and videos playing...Still feel I need a Anti-virus program just not sure what to put on this 7 yr old dell laptop...I know Webroot might be the fix,but the last time I checked it was pricy and detection not the best...Any suggestions out there...

    Security now

    Hitman Pro on-demand

    Hi Ripcord,
I am wondering, which is slowing your system, EAM or Online Armor?

avast! 2014 is in beta now and is looking good. I believe the final should be released sometime in October. Give it a try.

    I'm using:
    avast! 2014 beta
    Outpost Firewall Pro
    Malwarebytes Pro
    WinPatrol Plus

I believe it's OA that was slowing me down and causing the problems...might reload Antimalware only and go w/ windows firewall...avast would be a good try also...tx Charyb

Yes, EAM itself is the last AV's out there I would suspect of slowing down internet traffic. Everything that has a stream scanner, sure, but not EAM.

Internet traffic isn't the only factor when browsing. All AV's impact CPU, RAM, Disk I/O, etc. that are needed by web browsers.

Avast is very light but very good protection...for free security it's the best other than CIS
    Paid would be ESET!
I've never used OA for very long but I bet it's the one slowing you down, EAM is pretty light and never gave me problems other than scanning slowing my system down.

Thanks guys appreciate the advice...AO is the culprit here w/ the problems I've been having...Not sure what direction I will take w/ a anti-virus program yet,but I sure could get use to running like this....fast & lite

Good Morning! Ripcord...I also had EAM...and decided to add O/A. Well sports fans O/A simply wasn't playing nicely with some existing apps...and generally as you mentioned...brought things to an unacceptable impasse. My feeling is Emsisoft has their work cut out in trying too incorporate O/A...and EAM...in their proposed Security Suite. As much as I appreciate Fabian and the Emsisoft Support and Customer Care here at Wilders...I for the moment will adopt a Wait and See Posture. Sincerely...Securon

I have to agree w/ you Securon...I really like Emsisoft security pack, but OA just kills my computer blocking web pages and videos...Should be really interesting to see how Emsisoft incorporate OA under one hood w/ Anti-Malware w/ all those scanner...That will have us security junkies on fire when that happens...:D

Good Evening! Just re-installed Norton A/V 2013 and upgraded to 2014...in tandem with WSA Security Plus and Appguard. Got too admit Norton is Cloud Lightspeed...quite the improvement. I had about five months left on the pre-existing license...and thought might as well give 2014 a test drive...stay tuned! Sincerely...Securon

Ditched Comodo IS for Bitdefender IS. Bitdefender IS is very light and it's detection in multiple tests has been hot. One thing I'm not digging is the page load lag on firefox. Must be the web filter. Oh and having to reboot to update it. Yuck. Come on Avast IS 2014!
