Lavasoft Firewall

Ronjor, do you know anyone who has tried this firewall yet??T

 

Am I crazy, or does this appear to be a sort of re-branded Outpost?

just seen that while updating Ad-aware. You get Outpost without its anti-spyware for 29$,isn't that?

 

Yarrr... 'tis Outlook with Ad-aware PE.

 

Please see Lavasoft Launches Leading Personal Firewall Solution - Lavasoft have licensed a version of Outpost from Agnitum with just the Attack Detection plugin (the full version includes Active Content, Ads, Anti-Spyware, Attachment Quarantine, Content and DNS Cache plugins).

Looking at it , it is obviously Outpost . So P2K . You are saying it only has the attack detection ? None of the other features ? I hope not cause WOW . If it does , seems that would be an EXCELLENT buy .

 

According to information I've received from Agnitum, only the Attack Detection plugin is included in Lavasoft's version and the screenshot above does seem to confirm it (if you squint hard enough...).

It is a logical decision, and 'comprehensive security suite' is what the customers want.

 

Too bad this Lavasoft firewall does not have a free version...

 

Ah . But for what you get for $ 29 . 95 , it is a good buy

We had a poll here at Wilders some time back and this is what we learned about a preference for a "comprehensive security suite."

 

Unless I am missing something, this is the same trial version that you have to purchase when trial ends that is available on the Lavasoft website....

 

Right you are! Free for awhile and optional to purchase afterwards. Otherwise no functionality afterwards. Only reasonable, don't you think?

or A2 or Norton/Mcafee Internet Security?
and even Adaware adding a firewall etc. etc.
TDS-3 (trojan Specific) end of life
etc. etc.

And what i hear from my customers who are not interrested in all this,
they just don't want to have their Windows system infected.
And buy 1 product (although it is perhaps even more expensive)

For me this for me is proof that end-users and those companies
have other ideas then we (me included)

We can see where this is going to.

At the moment i am testing SecureWall a brandnew Firewall-only Beta.
easy-stackable, but i heared/know that it is going to be joined with a
Anonymous-surfing prog....

So 'one' can see where this is going to..

 

Installed it this a.m.; went smoothly - and up and running okay...

tuatara - We believe you are correct in your assessment. Hopefully with programmes like ProcessGuard (and perhaps others) we can have a good overwatch programme for our primary security solutions.
