I am considering using NOD32 as my anti virus software. I am aware that there isa new version (3) that will be released. If I but version 2 now will the update to version 3 be free or is it better to wait until version 3 is released?

completely free and I've heared you may get a free upgrade to the whole Security Suite even if you are licensed only for AV. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

    Hi greshoff, welcome to Wilders.

The upgrade from vanilla version 2.5 to vanilla version 3.0 will be free as per normal upgrade policy of Eset (there has not been any announcements advising anything different), however, upgrade pricing (if there is a charge) for existing customers to the full NOD32 v3.0 Suite has yet to be determined.

    Cheers :D

Vanilla version means NOD32 AV only which detects viruses, trojans, rootkits, adware, spyware, phishing/pharming threats etc.

    NOD32 Suite means NOD32 AV + AntiSpam + Firewall + Possibly more.

The plain stand alone version of NOD32, where as the Suite will incorporate goodies/extras, as in Firewall, Anti-spam etc...

    Cheers :D
