Do you, by any chance, have a non-English version of Windows installed?

Under this key in your registry you will find an entry you need to delete:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHooks

    Which is:
    "{81559C35-8464-49F7-BB0E-07A383BEF910}"="SpywareGuard"

Open TaskManager, go to the File menu and a "Run..." entry should be there. Type regedit. Then browse to the key mentioned above, and delete the entry mentioned above. Then try restarting your computer (things should work temporarily again). Then you should be able to run the uninstallation program for SpywareGuard.

(If someone knows how to create a reg file that will remove just that entry, without removing the whole key, it would be appreciated ;)).

    Best regards,

Sure, this is the syntax for removing individual values:

The above registry entry can be removed automatically by using this .REG file: sg-remove-hook.reg (direct file link)

Right-click that blue download link and save the file to your system. Then double-click on that file to execute it. It will disable SpywareGuard's active protection so that the next time you reboot your system, the SG modules will not run.
