Connection speed and all that stuff is influenced by a lot of things.

But it's cool... Sometimes imagination is all we've got! :)

I mention this on my previous post, and it seems that is because of the windows theme...

Or is a problem with our themes or NOD32 support themes...

Perhaps NOD32 isn't playing well with the API.

One other thing I did notice, seems like Incoming and Outgoing mail is pretty slow on Outlook 2003 when compared to other competing products.

Granted I do have all options checked but still seems excessive for plain text emails.

I had missing images as well when I tried out the beta. Running XP Home SP2 with default Silver Luna theme, ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 with Catalyst 5.4 drivers.

I guess your theme is playing tricks on you. I use no theme, just a background picture and no problem at all.

...been using V2.50 for a couple of weeks, before installing V2.50.7 over the top of it. The earlier one seemed effective, unobtrusive, fast. Ditto the new one - which means ESET continues to impress! :D

Is the add server feature still there? I would like eset to remove that feature because some warez sites provides signature updates through them. Anyway, there isn't much of a use for that feature. You can then make updating 2.13 to 2.5 compulsory which then they can't do anything.

Yes, the "Add" servers thing is still there.

Never thought about people using that to get updated sigs from warez sites for their cracked version of the program, though (I would hope eSet has, though).

Be interesting to see what they say about that one. Pete

I am curious as to why my "License Keys" tab is blank - shouldn't the license key that it's running off of be shown in there? Pete

If the add server option was removed, NOD32 would become useless for corporate environments as it could not update from a local mirror.

    To Pete:
License keys would be listed only if you were using NOD32 Remote Administartor, NOD32 for Exchange or NOD32 for Kerio Mailserver/Winroute firewall.

doesn't the "admin" version have a deployment feature?
If not, what about making a central force-deploy after every update from the admin console?
Or disallowing any ftp/http protocol servers/IPs outside of the local lan ranges?
(I'm just guessing here... can't really be sure if these are feasible)

Thank you for the excellent explanation of BOTH of those. Pete

I think they should take out the add server and licenses key feature in standard editions. You have no idea how many people are using NOD32 through warez :p. I am thinking 100 or even more =\

You can't becuse you need these features to operate NOD32.
And stopping warez is impossible. They always find some other way to get around protection.

    Hiya,
How about when running NOD32 in Scan & Clean mode, if something is found and needs action the alert window pops up in front of all other windows? A few times now I have left NOD32 scanning while I browse the web or check emails, and assume it has finished when no alerts have appeared and the hard drive has stopped whirring, yet when I go to check the log it is waiting at (for example) 25% because it needs me to click Clean or Delete. Just a thought (yep, I know about the setting of the Actions to Clean and Delete, but I like to see what it is first and choose the 'Prompt me for action' setting) thanks, Lee :D

    It's the same for me!

Btw I\m wondering when are they going to improve their Trojan and spyware detection ??

Agreed, this is annoying and ought to be addressed.

They are doing that in every update available, as far as I can tell.

Maybe a delayed processing feature like Kaspersky has got. If this option is enabled, every suspicious file is queued up until the end of the scan. If any suspicious files were found, an alert pops at the end of the scan with all the suspicious files that were found. It's a very useful feature!

I reported that problem with the tray icon text quite awhile ago, with the previous beta release (2.50.2)...

    Nice :)

Strange that this isn't fixed already...
