    He is, isn't he? :)
I watched him 'live' with his debut at FC Groningen, and knew already back then he wouldn't be playing long on the Dutch fields... the boy has such potential.
Pure pleasure, watching players like that!

    Enjoy,

    Hey Guys,

Don't know much about Robben, just what I've read. If he is of the mold of a Baggio or a Bergkamp I'll jump on the bandwagon. Not many could read the field or distribute the ball as well as those two.

    Play on, big ed

for Big Ed and all other soccer-fans:

    This week, another chapter of

;) ***The clash of the Lions*** ;)

will be played at Villa Park, Birmingham between

    England v Holland

    International Friendly
    Wednesday 9 February 2005
    7.45pm kickoff (Local UK time)

The homeside is facing some problems with their defensive line-up, while Holland has to march into the arena without one decisive striker; Arjen Robben - Injured.

For this one occasion, the Dutch will not be playing in their usual Orange outfits, but as part of an anti-racism campaign, initiated by a.o. Arsenal-striker Thierry Henry, the orange lions will wear a black&white jersey; black trousers; and white socks.
On the sleeves of this outfit the following text will be shown :

    Hey Slammer,

Am awaiting match "w/baited" breath. I don't recognize many of the Dutch players this time around. As far as Rio and Sol go, as good as they are, they always seem to make a few major Boo Boos every time I watch them so they won't be missed by me.

I have been a been preoccupied with the devastating Referee scandal in Germany. It has always been widely known that Clubs, Mgrs, and Players cheat. The only way possible to have a fair match is to have three Officials of "unquestioned" integrity". As a former Ref I have always been a strong advocate for "Fair Play" w/o comprmise so for me this is a major downer.

I hope to see the game @ my Son's place and expect to watch an offensive type match.

if that's the biggest problem of the season, i can live with it. i can't wait for all the celebrations. when Chelsea won the FA cup last, Chelsea came to a stand-still, there were parties in the streets, the roads were blocked, just every where you went there were parties and celebrating.

    It does.
But I'm over it (for now :doubt: ), so the thread is re-opened again.:D
Very very sad to see my club go down the drain in so little time; they had such promising organisation and staff (all former Ajax legends among which Marco v Basten) just 2 years ago, but as so often: the impatience and short-term anxiety got the best over long-term thinking and planning... and now it's back to zero again. :'( Ronald Koeman has resigned yesterday.
This may take another 2 or 3 years to really recover, and get back to the place we belong.

It's all about the lack of attitude, character, stamina, guts and fighting spirit of those spoiled brats youngsters. Added to that imho there are way to much foreign players; it's about time the audience will be able to identify themselves again with local heroes. (And if necessary curse them in their own language  :D ;) )

But no use crying over spoiled milk; Once Ajacied, forever Ajacied. :)

    Play on...

    Oh dear, oh dear.
Over 500 replies in a thread about the wrong game!!!!
    Get into Super12.
The Brumbies were unbelievable last weekend:
bunch of untested 20yo taking on the strongest provincial team in NZ and
    SPANKING them. Heroic.

    Also might like to check out the Tsunami Relief Game;
Northern Hemi V Southern Hemisphere. Next week in London.

Might get a few converts to the "egg" ball :D
