Police free son of Russian software tycoon Kaspersky

Police in Moscow say they have freed the son of Russian software tycoon Yevgeny Kaspersky, who was kidnapped on Tuesday.

Ivan Kaspersky, 20, was abducted while on his way to a firm where he was doing work experience as a computer programmer.

"The Moscow police together with the Federal Security Service and riot police have recovered Kaspersky's son in the Moscow Region," police spokesman Viktor Biryukov said on Sunday in comments carried by state news channel Rossiya 24.

Five people were arrested in the raid.

The 20-year-old is said to be in good health.

Biryukov denied reports a ransom was paid.

Russian news website lifenews.ru said the kidnappers demanded 3 million euros ($4.3 million) for Ivan’s safe return.

Kaspersky, CEO of global digital security company Kaspersky Labs, is estimated to be the 125th richest man in Russia with a $0.8 billion fortune.
