Windows 7 VSS copy errors

I have FD setup with XP, Vista and windows 7 but seem to get error each time I do a windows 7 snapshot

I have excluded
*{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752}

Those are files created by the Volume Shadow copy Service in the "System Volume Information" folder

I get 2 error
windows error 1117 - could be a disk / controller driver I guess. I'm looking into the sys drivers

and
Volume Shadow Copy Error 0x8004230f
I'll try RSS instead of VSS

Changed to rss but still always get one error within win7 - always the same file

Perform a check disk.

1117 is an an I/O device error and 121 is a timeout error

The file system is clean - yet the erorr is always this file within win7

 

Using "everything" I compared my win7 snapshots and then manually copied the problem file.

And then updated the snapshot ... only to get a different error. It seems that most errors are around the winsxs dir ..a file system problem?

# Turned off System restore
# Changed back to RSS to VSS to RSS
# Ran chkdsk again - lots of errors not sure why the first scan did not pick up anything
# Rewrote boot sector


Seems to be working again
