    Another hint:

    1. Network drivers are not working because some JPF files are missing.
    2. JPF cannot get installed because there is no network

    :)

    Hello WSFuser,

Did you uninstall the old version first?

What OS are you installing on?

Guys ... I'm on vista ultimate, and every time i install Jetico, I can't play mp3 files from windows media player. (They're on my hard drive) It keeps saying something is being accessed or I don't have priveleges. Once I uninstall it, it's fixed.

Regarding to a member of an other forum, this is a bug known since Beta 20 and the developer is aware of it since end of december. I can't confirm this but i sent Nail from Jetico an email some hours ago.

    WSFuser,
There are some changes due to the "Configuration Wizard" being re-introduced to this build. Save your config file, and uninstall, and make a clean install of the new build.

I have only had a quick look at this build. There is a need to allow "smss.exe" indirect access (this rule is missing,... not created by the wizard(on my quick test). Also "explorer" needs access to network).

In the meanwhile, Nail (Jetico Developer) confirmed today several bugs and traced these down too. Fixes will be available soon.

    Welcome to Wilders,

There have been 16 beta releases (with 26 builds, some internal (not released to public)).

It does appear that Jetico2 is having problems with Vista compatibility. So no info on this at this time.

It looks like thier time is being taken with the "BestCrypt" beta.

A strange behavior of my system (XP Pro+drivers+ NOD+FDISR) when Jetico 2.0.0.27 installed. I did an install/uninstall twice, but the symptoms are always the same. Take a look at the screenshots, the first is with Jetico, the second without:

    o_O o_O
I have also noticed that with several last builds my computer startup is delayed at the desktop (with intense disk activity), and the shutdown blocked (I have to do a hard-reset). All this is very unusual, as I try a lot of software and I rarely have issues like this if ever. I really like Jetico, and I am very sorry to see it still doesn't get along with my system :doubt: So, I'll go with v1 for now...

    @The Seer,

I have not installed the last 3 builds of Jetico2 due to ongoing problems with this firewall. The last build I installed caused me to have to re-flash the mobo bios and re-install (from backup image) windows. So I personally was going to wait for an RC.

For startup problems, this is usually related to the "indirect access" needed by some programs at startup, that get blocked by Jetico2. The only check is to enable the "debug" rule (at the top of each table) with logging. This will allow the "Indirect access" needed for any programs (with missing rules). You can then create rules from the logs.

I do think it is about time (due to the ever increasing interceptions from Jetico2) that a "Learning mode" was introduced, so that rules could be created automatically during boot. I know they have re-added the "wizard", but this does not add all application required (and adds many that are not needed for most setups)

    Hi Stem.

Nice suggestion to use the debug logging to configure a ruleset. Thanks, I will use it for future reference, as I had to uninstall build 27 due to those unusual memory leaks. I tried it on my other two PCs as well , but all is well there, Jetico taking just under 15megs. I guess it's just a compatibility issue, so a few builds more will polish that. :)
