Of course the level of protection is the same. That's not the debate. It's the choice of green as the colour of the padlock against the green Webroot icon. It is not as clear to see as before. They could've left it as it was; it was clear enough.

Please do take into account screen size and resolution, and that visually impaired users may use the product. It is NOT the level of protection that is the problem. It's a design metric that wasn't so clearly thought out, in my opinion, given what I've just said.

i dont know for me its great i dont mind the green and i have much vision missing from me left eye due to radiation treatments. and this is on a 14" laptop. i would have no issue if it was a different color though either.

    Attention everyone:

This may just be one of THE BEST releases of all time so far; (well, one of the best...yes, there has been many great ones for sure)!

"Improved ID Shield" functionality certainly does not do this justice. If I am seeing what I think I am seeing and this is not just some oddity/side-effect from some other change...here we go... are you ready for it? *drum roll*

I noticed the gold padlock is now a green padlock. Then I realized...wait...why am I even seeing this? I AM IN A SANDBOXIE BROWSER!!!

NOW...FINALLY...you can get the BEST of both worlds! Protect your OS from the browser, AND protect the browser from the OS! YES! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The intent here was to differentiate between the Webroot padlock and the HTTPS padlock in browsers. However, I do take your point and the views of the other users here and will have the padlock icon reverted in the next update.

    Thank you!

Yeah I noticed that this morning. I wonder if they actually get it to work in a sandbox. What I'm noticing now is that the icon goes away. If I go into WSA main window it comes back. Odd.

I want to just double check this on my end before creating too much excitement. I'll have a definitive answer in a few minutes :)

I can confirm - the Identity Shield is indeed now compatible with browsers running under Sandboxie!

Hey that's great news. I was hoping that either you guys or ronin was going to fix that. Two of my favorite programs. I don't think I could have a lighter but really strong combo. Sandboxie, WSA and Comodo. Doesn't get too much better than that.

Same issue here, on Win8-64. I was starting to think my keyboard was getting old.

I notice that if I go into the 'view/edit protected websites' that it still shows the lowered configuration for HTTP sites vs HTTPS. Is this not accurate, or should the settings be changed?

You can still adjust them as I have all set to Max and with no issues and better protection for all websites.

I'm sure that's the case, it's just that on one hand we're told that the protection is now the same for HTTP and HTTPS sites by default, and OTOH the settings show differently.

Also this version exhibit a broken key logger protection (only encrypts the first key) and first key on browser often blocked. This is tested on IE10, WIN8 Pro 32 bit and SpyShelter antitest (for the key logging).

    Thanks for any feedback,
    Fax

Can you please confirm this matter one way or the other, it is confusing to say the least.
If the browser protection is the same across all sites when the padlock is on what point or use is there in having the customisable settings per site and/or by https and http
