    Regarding the AV Ballot Screen:

Hitman Pro reads the installed AV from the Windows SecurityCenter. When either the SecurityCenter is disabled or isn't started (yet) the AV Ballot Screen will appear.

If you have a purchased license, the AV Ballot Screen never appears.

We've noticed that McAfee Enterprise just disables the SecurityCenter o_O so those users will always get the AV Ballot Screen. We will add McAfee detection in the near future.

    Hi Adric,

You should *always* get the Setup dialog if you run Hitman Pro from a location that is not located under the Program Files folder.

The setup dialog will NOT be displayed when either:

    1. You have specified the /noinstall command line switch, or ...
    2. You have created NoInstall registry value (REG_DWORD) under HKLM\Software\Hitman Pro\

If you still think you should see the setup dialog then please PM me.

    hahahahaha... LOL..... :cautious:
I think he meant McAffee being detected by HMP, so you don't get the "no-av" Ballot Screen
anyways, if there was a chance another engine could be added I'd vote for either Sophos or Sunbelt:thumb:

    Hi Erik,

malexous hit the nail on the head. When you launch a new version of HPM, you get the normal startup screen. I did not realize that selecting next would then start the install procedure. Previously, selecting next would have started a scan. Why not start directly with the LUA and the setup dialog when launching a newer version?

I'm happy this topic has grown so much since my last visit. Anyone want me to edit the title to something more formal?

i personally wouldnt think its a bad thing, but wen dealing wth extremely large corporations like that, licensing their engine for a program like hitman pro would be an utter nightmare if not impossible.

but yes, i would like to see Avira come back the most

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Our Windows XP SP3 hasn't been updated since April. Hitman Pro tells me I'm vulnerable to the .LNK exploit, as it should. Everytime I enable it, if I close and re-open Hitman Pro or go to the settings screen and back to the Hitman Pro main screen, it tells me my computer has been updated by Microsoft and disables the .LNK protection. Reproduced many times.

After an update of Hitman Pro is found when right-click scanning a file, and it starts the new build, but doesn't scan the file you right clicked.
