Outlook 2010

I am using the new Outlook 2010 and I find that Eset NOD32 is not appending the message to emails that the message was checked for viruses like it did in Office 2007. Is there a fix or do I need to wait for a module update?

The append tag is not working at all ?

 

There's no integration at all for 2010, see my post from last weekend as that's when I started using Outlook 2010.

Marcos said they're working on it, but at the moment only POP3 is protected (therefore not Exchange RPC/HTTP etc).

No not at all. And I am using pop3.

 

Sorry to hear this, though, as Jim pointed out ESET is working on the append tag problem.

 

I suspected that was the case. I will just be patient and wait for the fix. Thanks much.

 

Can we have an update on possible support for Office Outlook 2010 as I'm using it now on Win 7 32bit & 64bit? And would it be a Program Update or a module update as I'm using ESET NOD32 4.2.40.0?

When a new version with a plugin for Outlook 2010 is available, it will be announced at ESET's website as well as here at Wilders'.

Hello there;

My company is using Nod32 v4.0.467.0. I was using office 2007 on Windows 7, and every mail that I recieve is automatically checked by Nod32. But, 2 days ago i upgraded to office 2010. And e-mail checking is somehow de-activated.
As far as I understand, Nod32 is capable to check POP3 e-mail accounts. I have a POP3 account so why Nod32 is not checking my incoming mails?...

Should I re-install Nod32?

 

It is as It just caught two Trojans from a fake UPS emails! But you will not see NOD32 anywhere in Outlook 2010 until they get the new plugin as Marcos said! You should upgrade to the new 4.2.40.0 version and you can install over top to keep your settings or wait for the new version that supports Outlook 2010!

So I take it that Eset will come out with a new version instead of a module update? This week I have seen program modules updated twice. Any chance the module updates fixed the outlook 2010 issue?

As for the Outlook issue, it doesn't sound like a trivial thing to fix (especially when using Exchange rather than POP3). Be patient....

Exchange 2010 server is out since 6 month... Office 2010 since almost 2 months, supposedly hitting retail later this months... I would expect AV to keep up the pace at least with developments of major product developments, MS products still tend to be widely used though. it is not about patience, is about not falling off the face of the earth

 

Yes, still not out for general consumers until some time this month. It makes sense to wait for the release and not to be caught out if there are any changes from the time it went to production and it is out for sale

 

oh, and what is the record on those changes from the past? probably me too weak to remember it right, still reckon it somewhere around zero. rtm releases on the tech channels do provide the chance to adapt products accordingly, if the vendor wants it. obviously not everybody does.

You are missing the point? Talking about irrelevant, funnily enough some people intend to use IE6 for as long as they can

 

We can't really complain if ESET don't have this working yet. Office 2010 is only available to MSDN/Technet/AA and corporates, and most corporates won't roll this out for a while.

If it doesn't work by the time Joe Public can purchase Office 2010, then I think people are justified in complaining. But I have full confidence that they'll roll this out soon.

I've used Office 2010 x64 for nearly a month, and I just learn to be careful about the emails I open - which isn't a bad thing......

thats wrong. I know a lot of companies which are currently using office 2010. you'll also find hosted exchange solutions with exchange 2010 in the wild. so I think it's time that eset will provide a solution.

it's hard to make software deployments and upgrades when your antivirus solution provider is not able to provide working software in a timly manner.

I think even eset will have at least one MSDN or Technet subscription to test new software. so why are they waiting until everything is released for consumer user?

office 2010 has RTM status since month. exchange 2010 has this status also since month. so what's going wrong here?
