Can you check what are you "Options > Network" Max connections to server, and Max total connections settings?

It seems that upgrading to this new version these settings doesn't change to the current standards, 16 and 64, respectively...

    This will increase the speed...

Max network connections should be kept at default, many webpages start throwing you out when their flood protection kicks in, total number of connection tweak however works out fine.

Twitter is accessible through Twitter widget in Opera.

There's a lot to like about Opera, but I really need a plugin similar to Grab & Drag that I use in Firefox. Grab & Drag makes it possible to scroll the screen by holding down a mouse button and I can't seem to function without it :) Does something like this exist for Opera?

You could use mouse gestures. I don't so am not sure how well it would work for you but its a thought if no other solution is available.

Although a tad annoyed I had to configure Opera from scratch for final (excluding bookmarks which you can export), I moved from beta to final and it seems very smooth, all the bugs I had have been fixed. Great work, gonna enjoy Opera 10.50 for now until the next browser kicks it's ass and I swap again.

I'm sure the FF plugin has more features, but Opera does have a button(Appearance>Buttons>Browser View>Text Selection on) that allows you to toggle between click/drag selecting text and dragging the page.

I suspected that things were looking a little bizarre when Opera pushed Unite and Link on users by default with 10.10... Particularly when using the GUI menus to disable the features did not disable them.

Seems 10.5 is a step further in the direction of making Opera a permanent webserver on every computer. Details are sketchy, but see the thread "10.50 Final: Opening Ports for apparently No Reason" over on the Opera boards for more details.

I'm not sure if this is a problem or FUD, but I'm just putting it out there since 10.10 made a lot of people uneasy.

If you disable unite, the option to discover other users is still checked.

I'm assuming, by unchecking both of these, should fix what users are mentioning, that 'discover other users' is still enabled.

Nope. Even in 10.1 those options were useless. If you wanted to prevent Opera from opening those ports and listening/broadcasting about Unite webservers, you had to go into Opera:config and find the appropriate options.

What people are complaining about in 10.5 is that, even if you unselect everything in the GUI - AND - use Opera:config to disable Unite webserver capabailities, you still have these ports opened all the time. See source here.

Still has a UI problem with 24 bit color. (old laptop)

No icons in the menus so you can't see what's selected.

I am going back to 9.6 until things shake out...

Too many buggs and security holes for me.

Well, we all knew that was coming. The nice thing is the vulnerability was found so quickly. Opera can get that one knocked out rapidly.

Somehow in a weird way, I'm actually pleased that a security hole was discovered regarding 10.50. Maybe opera devs will release a less buggy version than 10.50 when they release the security update for it.

That's mean, lol. It would be nice though if they managed to fix this release up a bit while they had it on the surgery table patching up that vulnerability.

Thanks for this information. This is the right sort of thing, but unfortunately can't be customized. With Grab & Drag I can set the right mouse button for dragging and I can also reverse scrolling direction.

    http://www.internetnews.com/security/article.php/3847461

According to Cenzic, Firefox accounted for 44 percent of all browser vulnerabilities reported in the first half of 2009. In contrast, Apple's Safari had 35 percent of all reported browser vulnerability, Microsoft's Internet Explorer was third at 15 percent and Opera had just six percent share.

My my................wonder how many in store for 2010 end.

I don't want to run off-topic too long, but that sure makes FF seem like it's going backwards in security. We'll see what 2010 brings as you said.
