I don't get this. This has been an issue a few times now with ESET V4 pushed to workstations and Console v3 handling the mirror.

I create the mirror on a second partition:

    D:\mirror
    Select HTTP

On the clients I shoot em over to http:\\192.168.1.15:2221

And just says "error downloading update from server"

Try sharing out the D:\mirror and changing that on the client side to \\server\mirror

    Again no dice.

First time I saw this problem with HTTP the UNC file worked, now both dont work on this setup.

What am I doing wrong or what is wrong?

Have you tried changing the default port 2221 to a different one in case it's already used by another application?

yes i have tried that on both sites.

now i am configuring this one client to just pull updates from the web.

only a 9 computer office, just silly.

eset had no answer the last time i spend 2 hours on hold with em.

I gather there's no firewall between the server creating the mirror and the clients. I'd recommend creating a Wireshark pcap log with the http traffic captured during the update process and sending it to support[at]eset.com with this thread's url in the subject.

I honestly don't know which one fixed it or not.

    Changed to port 1337
    Deleted Mirror directory
Deleted Local Virus Definitions on local machine
Deleted Cached and Rebuilt Mirror on server
    Changed to http://serverlanip:1337

    and its working now..

    Odd.

    Hi,

I have the same problem over here.
I am using RAC and RAS version 3.1.11 setup with the defaults and enabled the http-mirror on port 2221 running on Windows 2008 Sp2.
The update mechanism is working fine for an unknown amount of days and then stops suddenly without any errors on the Eset server.

I am using the following as a workaround:
Start Eset Remote Administrator Console and go to Tools / Server Options.
On the tab Updates set the option Clear Update Cache and then press the button Update Now. The effect is the same as deleting the mirror directory and the clients seem to be updating again...

Restarting the Eset services doesn't help, only deleting and rebuilding the mirror seems to be working.

Another one with the same problem:

    Kind regards,

    Rene.

I am not sure which changed it for me by deleting the mirror and redownloading or changing port.
