FF3 is fine, and it also had better security than FF2. FF3.1 supposed to out soon, which by all accont is going to be that nuch better.

Exactly. Besides, Fasterfox just changes some settings that can also be changed manually. There are numerous tutorials how to do this. Fasterfox is definitely no reason to stick with FF 2.x.

:thumb: Also most extensions and themes can be made compatible using the Nightly Testers Tool extension.

I can not speak for all add-ons. But the 2 I use it for, Back-forward drop down button and paste and go work just fine.

As tlu suggested HERE. Do some searching and manual tweaking. Google about:config tweaks. Firefox 3.0.0.5 is every bit as fast as 2.0.0.XX was on my 2 PCs.

The manual tweaks will do the same for FF3 that faster fox does for FF2.

    i tried to enable TraceMonkey
    Code:
    # In the filter field type: javascript.options.jit.content
    # Double click on it to change the boolean value from false to true
    # Restart Firefox to apply changes
    but there is not javascript.options.jit.content:thumbd:

Fasterfox DOES work with FF3: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9037. There are also a ton of translation tools available there. You'll have to get onboard FF3 at some point because there aren't going to be any more updates to FF2. Also, it sometimes takes a while for developers of extensions to update to new FF releases. These people are almost 99% plain old home users that come up with ideas/extensions in their free time. If an extension is popular enough and it can be done, extensions WILL sooner or later be updated to work with new FF releases.

I don't understand what you mean about "logging in". The link takes you right there...or am I missing a part of this? As far as Babylon, I guess you're just out of luck until they update it to work with FF3, though, again, there are a ton of translation extensions available.

As another poster stated Fasterfox works fine with all versions of v3. There is also FireTune.

dw426, Fasterfox is an experimental add-on, thus you have to give up your email address and a password in order to download it.
