Today I installed OS selector over my Vista Business SP1, with the idea of installing afterwards XP in dual boot. After the installation was completed successfully, I DON'T HAVE ANY OS TO BOOT, VISTA HAS DISAPPEARED.
Additionally, Vista came preinstalled and I dont have any CD to use except the recovery disc. Please, I need help, how do I get back my original OS ?
    Thanks

If you already tried everything to get the OS selector to work and it still not working. The only way to get at least "vista" working is to repair the "bootloader". It's a quick fix.

For this you will need the "vista installation dvd" to repair the "bootloader. Below on the link are the directions to do it. Also the directions to get the "Repair section of the vista installation dvd".

Whatever you do don't reinstall vista, or try and use the recovery cd you have. This is an easy to fix problem that will get your vista to bootup again without losing any of your data.

I assume since you only have a recovery cd/dvd that this is a brand-name OEM installation of Vista. OSS does not recognize most (if any) of these types of installations. Acronis has acknowledged this and has a fix, but has not released a new build. This problem has been around since Vista came out.

Vista can be manually added to the OSS files so you can boot, but it would require access to the drive on which you installed OSS. You could do this from a VistaPE CD, BartPE CD or a Live Linux CD.

Another option is to deactivate/uninstall OSS. You may have to do this from the DD/OSS CD (on which hopefully you've included the OSS programs).

To get rid of OSS and return to your previous setup, a standard MBR reset may work as long as the computer doesn't have a special MBR it uses. If you have a TI backup of the drive prior to installing OSS, you could restore the MBR from that.
