We're testing the beta 1b release at the moment. Should be out in the next days. Please do not expect any significant changes as they are to come with beta 2.

"....should be out in the next few days..." ?? What about the fact that the 1a Beta licences expire in 5 days? There has been no answer from Eset as to why this is happening and people are getting anxious (like me) that the current Beta will expire before you release a replacement. I sincerely hope there is no chance of that happening. Either that or you need to extend the current licences via update. Which will it be...??

Will 1b still require beta1a to be removed before, or will it be possible to update and not remove 1a first.:ninja:

Im not worried about this - ESet has never failed before although I dont understand why they have "cancelled" the beta user account so early without publishing the replacement version.

Maybe they want to gain our attention - achieved.
Maybe they want to gain our response - achieved.
Maybe they want to move us all to the new version asap - good way to do it.

The end result is we will all move to Beta2 when it is released as updates will fail in 5 days time. Although most of us due to our viligant nature on attachments, dodgy sites, general unsocial behaviour, and our faith in ESet's inbuilt heuristics wont need to update for a couple of weeks.

You must admit though - they have got our attention and we have got theirs. What more can u ask for in a software company. Microsoft take note

I take it you did'nt read the post saying that it is version 1b that will be released this week and not beta 2.

Yes, it should be quite obvious to all the Beta testers that this means that either Beta2 will be released or that an RC version will be released within that time frame.
As was pointed out at the beginning of the beta test program, this Beta software license will be terminated upon release of the final product. I immediately took the 5 days (for me) till end of license notification as meaning that either the final version is in the last stages of release readiness, or that Beta2 will be posted for d'load...again within 5 days from today.

If it IS a bug due to the update software, I sure hope the Eset gang get that fixed by the next update release...it was a bit alarming to see that "License Termination" notice without prior notification for sure.

EDIT - I see it's a Beta1b release that's imminent, and not Beta2 or an RC release. Looking forward to this new & improved version for testing!!!
Keep up the GREAT work Eset!!

The part that bothers me is, I really think this snuck up on them and they were totally unaware until someone posted it here. So 1b can be sold to you as whatever, but I dont think it is anymore then a license extension. Otherwise someone from Eset would have made this known before hand.

No response from Eset? Not even any "it will be ready a bit later" or "it will be ready when its ready" or "when its fully cooked and ready to serve" comments?

Hopefully we wont have to wait until Cebit 2008... :gack:

We don't cook our products, we roast them :)

Beta 1b should be out within 5 days. Beta 1b can be installed over the previous one, preserving the settings as well as firewall rules.

Beta 2 should follow afterwards, with 64bit OS support, context menu scanning, new design and Outlook Express support.

Thanks Mayth. I'm not jumping up and down about "should follow afterwards" but it is something at least.

I imagine that b1b is going to be an assortment of bug fixes only? Will there be any new features/abilities added, even minor ones?
