I manually update twister as well and block all outgoing connections... I did that after it tried connecting to thawte.com and crl.microsoft.com....
I'm chiming in awfully late... But from my (brief) reading of this thread this is what I'm gathering (from the vendor's viewpoint)... 1)...
Well aside from Firefox any program I have that can access the net is either going to be completely blocked, or severely limited. I just play it safe.
Regarding the post about "collecting data".. I can't say yes or no about that, but I have prevented the program from performing auto-updates and...
