I've myself experienced Nod32 choking on some files (mostly packed files).
I had a minor disk thrashing issue with v4.7 when burning large files to DVD on Vista x64. Is anyone facing any such issue with v4.8?

Agreed.. AOL update servers are rubbish.. I gave a quick fix on how to use kaspersky servers for updates here. That works quite well! :)
Just add the entry: 127.0.0.1 download.newaol.com to your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, and then AOL will use kaspersky...
