If you mean the current kernel development in Linux, there is always room for improvement, however its still better than Windows in every sense.

I am positive its hardware acceleration, only then its possible to reduce CPU usage.
Not really, its fully functional but its made it easier for older hardware to run it, run the LIVE distro and see if everything works for you,...
On it and flying as usual, some big UNIX changes and fixes there :)

Puppy is based on Ubuntu Lucid so it does mighty fine and runs on old machines quite well.
Wouldn't know, I do have app armor enabled but I am on Kubuntu and I use Opera here which doesn't have a apparmor profile.
Checking out the lowered CPU usage, I have a strong suspicion that graphics acceleration is finally working on Linux and flash, one of teh reasons...

The latest x64 in Linux uses less CPU than its predecessors and runs far better than x32 used with nsplugin, also webcam now works with this version.
This one has more programs and more customizations by default that MINT.
This is also a good alternate to MINT, sadly it doesn't get the accolades or highlights MINT does.
