I use a Speedstream 4100 modem with NAT enabled, no software firewall (Win2000), and I get all stealth on the test.
I believe that's incorrect. Having NAT enabled should show 'stealth' on all ports for the GRC test.
That clears it up. Thanks.
Since you mentioned it, would the HIPS in OA and TF cover too much of the same area, making one of them redundant?
I'm in a similar situation as Hurst. I'm not a gamer, but I'd like a fast PC that will last me 3 years or so. If someone wouldn't mind answering...
I experienced the same when downloading files. I have WG shut off now.
I've been comparing it to XMPlay. They're both similar. AIMP2 has more features. The skins are nicer - love those VU meters :) . XMPlay is...
mantra - It's definitely faster, but not a huge improvement. You'll certainly notice it though.
I use XMPlay. Tiny, extremely fast response, very small on resources (most memory I've seen it use is 5.5mb, but usually stays at 4.5mb), and...
I was using Firefox 2 with 12 tabs active all the time. The memory would creep up to 200mb if I didn't restart the browser once a day. I just...
Thanks, mele and blackcat. I'll reboot and see if that sticks.
I shut it off for now also, but is there a way to keep it off? I have to deactivate it every time i boot.
Has anyone used speedtest.net since getting Avira 8? With Webguard active, I'm getting 11mb download speeds when I should be seeing 2.6mb. I'm...
The tracking cookie comment is interesting. I've never really taken them seriously. Can you elaborate some more or give me a link that explains it?
Couldn't have expressed it better myself. Thank you.
Are you comparing a parental control feature in a security suite with a toolbar that's nothing more than advertisement? ???
That went in easy, although I had to reinstall Adblock Plus. But it kept the settings, so no big deal. :)
Isn't the point of a bounced email to say the address is inactive? Do mail servers no longer bounce undeliverable mail the same way Mailwasher does?
This suggestion made a noticable improvement for me: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1159466&postcount=13
Would this setup have any redundancies? Would it have any glaring holes?

I may have installed it wrong as I needed to install Ad-Block again. Only took 30 sec to do that, so no big deal.
Currently I have any options to scan for tracking cookies in my anti-spyware/anti-virus programs turned off. I run CCleaner before starting any...
That's a rumor and a false one at that. The Limewire program itself is clean. The developers are quite adamant about keeping it that way.
