Use of Interactive Mode under User-Account

just started testing the suite and found two things that i don't like so much:

1. If i click with the right mouse button on the ess-trayicon a context menu pops up. But if i choose not to "open window", the context menu cannot be closed. I have to choose an option to close the window.

2. And more important to me the creation of rules in the firewall interactive mode. I work with Windows XP Prof. using an account just with user-rights (no admin). Under this account i am not able to save any firewall rule. For daily work the ability of fast rule creation is very important for me.

My workaround was giving my user-account the same privileges as a "main-user" (don't know the english term, in german XP it is named "Hauptbenutzer") for the applicationdirectory under all users where ess stores the configuration.

The only drawback is, when ess pops up with a window from where to choose to allow or deny the connection, i cannot set the checkbox to save it as a permanent rule. I have to make the long way, and choose "Show settings" to use the customize button. After that the rule gets saved.

So i think it would be nice to have an option in ess, for allowing some users (a list from where the admin can choose for example) to change certain settings or allowing the creation of rules. (Maybe only in conjunction with the use of a password protected configuration)

OS: Windows XP Prof. SP2 with all patches applied

I disagree to this suggestion. I also run users as 'limited user' and I won't give them the possibility to save/change any rules.
In my opinion it is the whole purpose of the 'limited user' that they can't change any settings.

I only wanted to have the option to do so. I did not say, that this must be the default behaviour.
The other way would be to work all time as Admin, which would also be a security risk. To protect settings you can use the password protection of ess.

By the way, after my last reset the checkbox of the popup window to save rules now also works. So its only a matter of setting the needed rights of the ess config-dir for the certain user.
If this is the way ess will store its settings in future i will have no problems.
