KIS 6.0 for $18.95 till 03/24/2007

yes, I changed my activation code to KEY and its working excellent. As I mentioned in my another reply, I spoke to UNISTAL support, they said that, this key is legal and will work. (and its working too)

 

I'm sure Unistal's keys are OK. Like I said, these keys appear to be legitimate Unistal keys which strangely ended up in the hands of Systweak. If the keys are to remain legal, I think Unistal or Systweak will need to contact Kaspersky and explain the situation.

As for my previous comments regarding country, it is only my experience, and I will not say every company is like that (Because I've had a good experience with some companies, e.g. MicroWorld eScan). But I do see a rather long list of companies that fall into what I said earlier (I have also added a disclaimer to my earlier post). No more discussion on this topic now, and no offense intended to you (ankupan).

 

Did you install KIS, or did you just change the code to the KEY? I am not going to install KIS until Avira expires in slightly over 5 months, and do not know if I can change the activation code to the Key. I guess if they are going to blacklist the code the key would be blacklisted anyway.

I do not want to do anything that is not ethical.

Yeah I noticed that too. I guess it will take Kaspersky a few days to properly initiate action. Lets wait 3 more days and see what happens.

Like I said, its going to take Kaspersky a few days to properly carry out actions against Systweak. Anyway, the situation looks bleak now for those who purchased these Systweak KAV licenses...

 

im not too worried,

it looks a legit offer, systweak are a big named company.

if its not legit, customers who purchased will be under-lgovernment legislation to get a full refund

so why worry eh?

 

I dont know Chris, I purchased one. You know the old saying of, it looks to good to be true, then it probaly isnt. Hope I am wrong.

 

And I'm sure the even pirate keys go through OK at first until they get blacklisted..

 

Question is: Whose government's legislation will apply in case a refund is needed? I'm not very conversant with how the process works in India (or anywhere else for that matter), so I'll leave ankupan or someone else to comment on that.

Anyway, one thing I notice about Systweak is the "incorporated" tag. In India, to my knowledge companies use the "Limited" tag (i.e. Systweak Ltd.). So I wonder what this is about?

That was part of my reply to the Kaspersky support rep. that I sent yesterday. I am still waiting to hear back from her, and at this point we can only be optimistic about the situation.

 

If they were blacklisted we will never get a refund...we bought memory zipper not KIS, kis was a freebie...

The earlier replies from Kaspersky support said that the keys will likely be blacklisted. It did not say that the codes will be blacklisted. if you interpret it that way, I think most Systweak KAV users are fast reaching a dead end.

 

True, but we all purchased memory zipper plus because of the free KIS offer. If they keys aren't valid, then that's basically fraud as far as I'm concerned.

Not that big of a deal for me, I'm only out $18.95 so I won't lose any sleep over it. This can only hurt Systweak in the end.

yes it is fraud, simple as.

refunds will be met, or many people complaining to a governing body who will take legal action,

 

Would be nice if it were so, but doubt it.

PS. The 6 months trial of AntiVir Premium looked too good to be true. Maybe we better subscribe to PC Welt. I like their offers. Maybe Lodore or some of you money men could do it, and keep the rest of us informed.

True, but it's like buying a car that is advertised as coming "with free GPS navigation installed by dealer w/ every purchase"... A pot sweetener that prompted many to move to action that would never have done so without the extra incentive.

Well, if registered properly Kaspersky has our emails, if they care to communicate something to us they can. Until such communication I am going to treat it as a valid product. Which it very well may be, reguardless of whether Systweak was supposed to be distributing it or not.

 

Just the wording and the optimistic view that the government will actually help us (sounded odd for someone from the USA). Nothing meant by it honest.

 

Well if it is indeed fraudulent, which I don't think anyone is even sure either way, it can be easily disputed with the credit card company. I'm not too worried.

 

I do not know how the law would see it, but morally it is indeed dishonest if the key is not good. We bought a "bundle" with the KIS as the more desired, and important part of that bundle. No matter what the financial breakdown or which was the gift and which one was the purchased it was a bundle, and the whole is what we bought.

I'll just wait and see, and won't go to much trouble to try to get a refund if it is fraudulent.

I bought a 3 year OEM of F-Secure IS for slightly over $30, and am using a free 6 month trial of Avira. Both are running great. Seems I am getting by too easy, and on balance, I am way ahead. As is said, "You win some, lose some, and some are rained out."
