Hi, im new to this forum and really like it.

However I need some help please if possible. I have installed the Smart Security Suite and its excellent, I used to use nod32 as antivirus before anyway but with comodo as the firewall.

However I need to know how to port forward, I use utorrent and need to set it up to port forward port 32791.

I will also do the router after I have sorted out the firewall. Before it was easy for me as there was a guide on portforward.com for the comodo firewall that I could follow, can someone please advise as its blocking that port.

    Any links/advice would be ace.

I am quite new to port forwarding, torrents and firewalls so please be patient with me :).

    Thank you

For µTorrent, here's how I managed. Let's say your uT incoming/listening port is 12345.

First, open port 12345 through your router as usual, you probably already did that.
In ESS, create a new rule named "uTorrent" that allows the app (i.e., utorrent.exe) all outgoing TCP/UDP connections.
Now create another rule named "uTorrent Port" that opens local port 12345 for incoming connections to all applications.

I tried other (simpler) methods with disappointing results.
The "uTorrent Port" rule will only be visible when you toggle to "detailed view of all rules".
I would also appreciate more info from people sharing torrents and such.

for me I just set it to allow all traffic for uTorrent and I haven't seen a problem with it at all and it's working flawlessly. Personaly I think it may not be the best idea to have the port open for incoming connections set to all applications but that's just my opinion :)

I think having one incoming port open (for all apps) is better than having an app like µT open for any connections.
It does work that way, though. Safe? I'd like more input on this if possible.

Well, personaly I watch what I download in the first place but i'm unaware of anything that uses the uTorrent executable to spread anything but since it's just for the program it's not like someone could use that same port to get to another program on a computer since it's open to uTorrent... but that's just me...
