I beg to differ. Beta software commonly begins as a feature reduced version. Why add features when you aren't sure the present ones work properly? It's much more difficult to troubleshoot a program as the program itself gets more complicated. Work out the bugs in what you have, then add additional features and repeat!

I have had NO software related issues with this software. The only issue I had is I didn't create a proper rule for FTP.

Great program. Waiting with baited breath for the next version!

ESS Beta works very well for me, on my notebook...XP SP2 Pro and VISTA Business Edition. I have no problems. Seems very stable.

    Here's my opinion :

    ESS is very nice. :)

Once you get used to the firewall 'advanced rules' dialog, it's in fact pretty flexible and useable, even if you can cause timeouts when creating complex rules. The Suite is the lightest all-in-one product I've tested so far, and the antispam just works great. The skin, too, is nice and clean. There are minor improvements to be done (regarding leak tests, seome incoming connections, firewall rules, and minor GUI bugs), but for a beta in early stages, it's very nice and polished.
It's stable too, I only had a GUI crash once, and a freeze when attempting to terminate the kernel, but otherwise there was no problem.

    Hi,

    Installed on:
    1. Win 2k3 Srv SP1, fully patched
    2 Win 2k3 Srv SP2, fullt patched
    3. XP SP 1 Eng.
    4. XP SP 2, fully patched.

    Had no problems installing it.
Filetransfers felt a bit slow, over backBone, need to do some meassurement.

I would definitely recommend trying it out, I'm running Vista Ultimate x32, this is the suite I've been waiting on for ages. I don't know why ESET did'nt make it before now, now I can use the same people I trust for antivirus to protect my whole computer :)

Only problem I've had with Beta 1 is a missing icon from the systray but when I go to the link in the start menu it pops up so it was obviously still running

It works great! Very stable. One thing that I find very impressive is that it runs only two processes. I think this streamlined design will bring advantages in the future.
