I just replaced my motherboard with a new GIGABYTE motherboard, VIA P4M800 Pro/775. When starting Windows 2000, I get error: GetDriveLayOut: CreateFile fail. Access is Denied. It happens all the time and it really gets irritating.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this error?

I removed the VIA Raid Tool. That took care of the "GetDriveLayoutFail" error message. Give it a try if your using the VIA Chip Set. The latest driver is the "via_hyperionpro_v510a.zip" releast 9/2006

I have gotten the same error message when trying to Clone Disk with True Image 9.1, and I am running with a RAID 0 configuration with a motherboard with VIA chipset. Obviously, removing the VIA RAID Tool is not a viable solution for me. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, I don't know the answer. Maybe Acronis Tech Support has a solution?
