KIS 6.0 for $18.95 till 03/24/2007

Ok...I tried KIS 6.0 again. I redownloaded it from the main Kaspersky site, installed it and had no problems like I did the first time. It's currently doing a full system scan. So far, so good.

Oh no....i wanted to get one additional lic for KIS. It was a steal at 18.95

 

It's still a steal at $29.95, which is what you now have to pay for the cheapest program. I guess they caught on to the memory zipper plus deal!

I sent a reply asking how this will affect those of us that received KIS 6.0 with the code from Systweak. I really hope Kaspersky does not not blacklist our key(s).

 

Obviously, many of us will want to learn the answer to that, thanks.

Systweak seems to have a partnership with Unistal, as was posted in the past. Maybe Kaspersky does not yet know this. "Systweak" may not be an authorized reseller of Kaspersky, but Unistal definitely is. There seems to be some miscommunication involved here.

It is possible that Systweak is selling legitimate Unistal keys without a license to do so, hence the unauthorized dealer status. This would mean that both Systweak and Unistal as well as HCL may have some explaining to do. Because apparently these keys were intended for HCL and created by Unistal, yet somehow ended up in Systweak's hands....

Either way, another Indian firm that has been caught in offers of questionable ethics/legitimacy. I've always advised people to not make dealings with Indian products, as India's corporate companies are filled totally with characters of questionable ethics. While Systweak may or may not be one of them, I think I need to re-iterate that one should preferably not have any dealing with a product of an India-based company. The employees are questionable, and some of the things I've personally heard in Indian companies among "employee speak" in relation to their customers made me disgusted at the working of such companies.

EDIT: Please keep in mind that my above comments are based on my own dealings (as well as consumer experiences) over a large number of companies, but does not and cannot account to say that every company in India is bad. All I mean to say is to exercise caution.

 

Wow....so it was too good to be true. Please let us know what they say. Worst case scenario, we are only out $18.95.

 

i did email kaspersky to about 2 weeks ago and explained and ask about this got no reply !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck taking äppropriate action against companies ignoring trademarks, reseller agreements, patents etc. in India (or China for that matter).

When it sounds too good to be true, then it usually isn't.
The exchange rate between USD and rupees means that someone made some big bank and a definite Indian lifestyle upgrade. I hope the people who signed on for this "offer" are able to somehow recover their money.

 

I had it all tweaked and got it working so smoothly. I will be really p*ssed if this gets taken back. I will scream bloody murder.

Kaspersky better let us keep the licenses and they should recover thier money from Systweak or Unistal or whoever.

Why did it take Kaspersky so long to decide that the deal with Systweak is not valid? If they had realized it faster, it would have save us in the long run. Kaspersky has to bear the loss here or recover from Systweak or Unistal. Cannot keep on screwing the customer.

I called Unistal and they said, this offer is valid.

Even they are using kaspersky antivirus with co-branding by putting their name.

I read that Unistal owns Systweak - which is why there is no association found with Kaspersky & Systweak - they get the license rights from their parent company (being Uninstal).

I suspect the codes may be blacklisted at some point so you won't be able to use the software. You can buy it direct from our site www.kaspersky.co.uk and then you will know you have a legitimate copy.

Guarantee if it's blacklisted I sure as hell won't be ringing up Kaspersky to buy another license, POSSIBLY if they were to offer it for a major % off just to help get us legal.

Just for the hell of it I just filed a paypal dispute for 'goods not received as advertised' since it seems to be a bogus license. That was the reason that spurred me into purchasing their product was a promise of a 'pot sweetener'.

 

Well you can be angry at Kaspersky, but I'm affraid it is not their responsibility. Some malware company sold you these licenses.

Silly question but could we get in to trouble with kaspersky for using illegal keys

i payed through paypal to could i file for a money back thing also im in uk

I don't see how Kaspersky is to blame in any way. We just got "taken." I don't know if PayPal will help or not, as we did get some software. I realize we did it because of the KIS offer, and systweak is dishonest if we lose the license, but that is not KL's fault.

For me, I just remember that, "A fool and his money are soon parted."
That is just for me, and no one else here, so don't beat me up.

I don't think I will jump off a high building, or even let it ruin my morning. It is a cheap lesson, I have to re-learn every now and then.

I wonder if Element 5 cares? I know they are not responsible, but they might not want to collect for such a company. Again, Oh Well.

Some of us changed our activation codes to keys through Kaspersky's site, if they let it go though, then it should be legal... don't you think?
