I have a very important program which is not allowed by the firewall for lan users in the automatic mode. In the interactive mode one has to create rules for each and every program. Is there a way one can allow such programs or users in lan in the automatic mode ? I had created a trusted zone of my lan computers.

    Hi scaa,
sorry to hear about your issues, please remember

    any error msg?

some users have issues with workgroup not accesible. First thing is to make sure you have your "lan" as trusted zone.

    It's only the first beta.
Looks like you need to make the rules in interactive mode and than change ESS to automatic mode

This is the exact feature I am requesting also. It seems easy enough to include in the final product, hope to see it there in the future.

I am not sure port opening is working properly, either. With firewall filtering on (Interactive) and proper local port and all remote ports open for TCP/UDP, I get no connections at all to trackers or peers. I have to set the uT application open for all ports both ways in order for it to accept connections, and have checked this many times. With ESS firewall filtering off, uTorrent works properly and speeds are blazing so I know it's the firewall.

*Edit: Still testing this, so it's probably my fault. I'm thinking I must allow the uT program all outgoing connections and set another rule opening the specific port used for uT incoming connections. Will test.

Interactive mode rules don't apply to Automatic mode from what I've seen. Any communications not initiated internally are blocked when switching back to Automatic.

Problem with firewall on XP Pro SP2 all updates. Cannot edit default system rules to allow NETBIOS to and from a TRUSTED zone. Need this to connect to my company's VPN system. With filtering off connection is fine. Anyone found a way to edit the 'grayed out' default rules? (In Interactive mode, click list all rules.) o_O
