    Hi folks!

I read that information on the eset.eu website:

Support for other operating systems, processor architectures and mail clients will be added in future test versions.

Question is: what e-mail clients will be support in the final version? I use Thunderbird (With SSL) and i really love it.. will it supported by ESS and stand-alone AV? Do you have any information about that?

I wanna buy an antivirus solution in the future and can't decide between NOD32 and Kaspersky. KAV has a good point: can scan SSL connetcions via pop3, smtp ports.

    Thanks.

the whole point of ssl is that the connection between client and server is ENCRYPTED - nothing can intercept UNTIL the communication is completed and UN-ENCRYPTED - so any AV solution working with an SSL secured connection is going to have to wait until the file/email is received an turned back from an encrypted stream into something it can deal with - that's the same for ALL AV solutions.

There will be plugins for certain mail clients which will allow ssl communication to be scanned (actually, a mail client will decrypt it and pass it to the plugin for a check).

    Hi Greg,

Yeah i knew that! However NOD32 2.7 can't scan e-mails after the messages get un-encrypted (just in outlook with his plugin) but kaspersky email monitor is working and scanning e-mail.
That's reason let me to ask that information.
