I read about a free overflow protection program called OverflowGuard. Apperently the company which released is not in business anymore. Does any one of the Wilders members know if by any change this program is still available as a download.

    Thx K

    Thx,

For the link you have to be a member, when I want to registrate I get a time out (web site not responding). I'll keep on trying.

    Kees, SSM doesn't cover this?
Lucas, which method do you prefer, and what programs already include this (FWs etc.)?

None. Both involve serious patching of the OS core. I will leave them to very advanced and/or adventurous users :D
I believe that Cyberhawk and/or Prevx have some countermeasures/features against bufer overflows.

KAV PDM also offers Buffer overflow protection.

Where exactly would I find this option? Using KIS 6.0.1.411 myself, and the PDM in IS should be identical to that in AV. (Unless of course this is something added in later versions.)

Because someone found a buffer overflow in KAV, the KAV PDM protects against buffer overflows in general? Interesting logic...

I doubt KAV protects against buffer overflows.

But regardless, no need for all these software based buffer OF protection -> just turn on hardware based DEP.
